About Us

Orchidmart is an orchid and horticultural plant import company based in the Greater Toronto Area. We provide import services — bringing orchids and rare plants into Canada directly from licensed growers abroad, and supplying them to hobby growers, plant shops and nurseries across the country.

Importing is the whole of what we do. We work through the growers' lists, choose what is worth bringing in, arrange the permits, phytosanitary paperwork and customs clearance, and look after every plant from the moment it lands until it reaches you. New selections come in through the year, so what we carry changes with each import — which gives you the chance to explore and discover orchids and plants from around the world.

That said, we do not operate a greenhouse, and we do not have a storefront in the way a traditional business does. We sell mainly online, which lets us reach growers right across Canada through our delivery service. We keep an office, where imports are received, inspected and packed, and every order is dispatched from there.

⚠️  Our address is not open to the public. Pickup is possible by appointment. Our office is at Hwy 7 / Bayview, Richmond Hill. Any visit without an appointment will be turned away.

⚠️  Plants are sold within Canada only. We are not able to export plants to other countries at this time. We appreciate your understanding.

What is your message about?

Changes to an existing order — cancelling, refunds, adding items, changing your shipping address, or combining orders. Please include your order number so we can find it right away.

Order changes are only actioned in writing, so that both sides have a record of what was agreed.

Preorder timing and status. Preorder plants are not in stock — they are imported for you, and normally arrive about a month after the preorder month closes. Announced arrival and shipping dates are posted on our homepage and Instagram.

Please tell us your order number and which preorder collection the plants came from.

Shipping rates, timing, and weather protection. Orders holding only in-stock plants ship in the following week's schedule; newly arrived preorder plants ship within about a week of the announced date.

In cold weather, insulation and a heat pack need to be added to the order before it can travel safely.

Photograph the plant and the packaging as you unpack, and write to us within 24 hours of delivery. Claims received after 24 hours cannot be processed, regardless of the condition of the plant.

Please attach clear photographs showing the whole plant in good light, together with your order number.

Pickup is by appointment in Richmond Hill, Ontario (Hwy 7 & Bayview area). The exact address is sent to you once your time is confirmed.

Please give us your order number and two or three times that would suit you.

Ask us anything before you buy — availability, plant size, maturity, condition, or how to grow it. We would far rather answer a question first than have a plant arrive that is not what you expected.
