Terms and Explanations

🌱 About Us

Our business is built around importing orchids and other horticultural plants. We do not operate a local greenhouse or grow plants ourselves. Instead, we source directly from trusted growers abroad and deliver imported plants straight to you.

This approach allows us to offer:

  • Competitive pricing – by focusing on importing, we keep overhead low.
  • A wider variety – access to species and hybrids not always available locally.
  • Fast turnover – we bring in fresh stock regularly, based on market demand.

📦 How Our Products Are Sold

We use three product categories. Look for the label on each listing and the tag on the product image.

Category Description
Preorder Preorder Not currently in stock. We collect orders first, then arrange import. Expect a longer wait time.
In Stock In stock Ready to ship. These are from previous imports, quantities are limited, and some may have minor imperfections.
Wishlist Wishlist Varieties our suppliers offer. We don’t have immediate import plans, but if there’s enough demand we may open a preorder.

🌿 Plant Quality & Grading

📦 Bare‑Root & AS‑IS

Because we import plants into Canada, all orchids and plants must be shipped bare‑root (without pots or growing media). Bare‑root plants are not fully established, and due to the nature of international transport they may show:

  • Dry or weakened root systems
  • Dehydration or yellowing leaves
  • Fold marks, broken leaves, or damaged spikes (from packing & transit)
  • Increased susceptibility to minor bacterial/fungal issues due to stress

Therefore, all plants are sold AS‑IS. We perform quality control to keep issues within a reasonable range (about 10–20%), but we cannot guarantee perfect condition. No ongoing warranty is provided after delivery.

By purchasing, you acknowledge that you have the experience and knowledge needed to care for imported bare‑root plants.

For preorders, if a plant arrives with excessive damage (beyond our 10–20% tolerance) and is deemed unsaleable, we will cancel and refund that item.

📊 Quality Grades

To help you choose the right plant for your experience level, we classify plants into three grades:

Grade Best For Plant Condition Discount
🟢 Grade A – Select Beginners, gifts, resale Fully established, potted; healthy leaves & roots; minimal to no defects No discount
🟡 Grade B – Acclimating Hobbyists with basic experience May have older leaf yellowing, minor mechanical damage, or slightly dry root tips 10% off
🔴 Grade C – Bare‑Root Import (AS‑IS) Experienced growers only Imported bare‑root (no pot/media). May show leaf loss, dry roots, or blemishes. Requires care upon arrival. 20% off

🌸 Not in Spike

Due to transport stress, it is very difficult for imported plants to arrive with spikes or flowers in good condition. Flowers often do not travel well, and plants may decline after blooming.

If a plant happens to be in spike at the time of shipping, it will be sent as is – but we do not guarantee the condition of spikes or flowers upon arrival. Items marked Not in Spike are not held to a spike/flower quality standard.

📸 Information for Your Reference

🖼️ Shop Photos

Photos are provided by our suppliers and are for reference only. They may not always be fully accurate; we recommend cross‑checking online sources to better understand the bloom.

  • Seed‑grown plants may show natural variation and may not look exactly like their parent plants.
  • If you require a plant identical to the parent, please choose divisions or tissue‑culture (TC) clones – these will be clearly labeled.
  • Some flower traits (e.g., peloric characteristics or spotting) may revert to more typical forms due to genetics. Photos usually show the best possible bloom outcome.

📏 Size Reference Photos

The plants we receive are generally similar in size, but reference photos are examples only. You will not receive the exact plant shown unless the listing specifies it is a one‑of‑a‑kind item. These photos help you evaluate approximate maturity based on your own experience.

👃 Fragrance

Fragrance notes are based on our research or supplier descriptions. Scent can vary with individual plants, growing environment, temperature, and blooming time. Please use this information as a general guide and feel free to do your own research.

📐 Plant Size

We describe plant size as accurately as possible, but exact sizing is confirmed only when the plants arrive. Our estimates are based on supplier photos and are reflected in the size reference images.

Example: “2.4” pot / 1 growth / Est. near mature size”
This means the plant was originally in a 2.4” pot, you will receive a single‑growth plant, and based on supplier photos we estimate it is near maturity. Use the size reference photos as a general guide and evaluate maturity using your own experience.
